On the morning of 26 August 2026, a mass of glacial ice and rock broke away from a glacier high in the mountains and fell into the river below, damming the river temporarily. When it burst, a massive surge of water rushed down the valley, sweeping away roads, bridges, and the infrastructure that sustains human lives. This disaster made headlines worldwide, while Nepal’s national disaster authority reported numerous casualties and many still missing. Roads have been severed, bridges and infrastructure collapsed, and hydropower projects damaged.
Thai Volunteer Service has friends in that place.
After the massive earthquake in Nepal in 2015, we launched a fundraising campaign called STAY STRONG, NEPAL. We went into the field alongside the Informal Sector Service Centre, or INSEC, a human rights organisation whose network reaches across the country. Following that, a member of our staff spent a full year interning there, a Nepali friend crossed over to volunteer in Thailand, and we have exchanged news and looked out for one another for 11 years since. As soon as we learned of this crisis, the very first thing we did was message our friends to ask if they were still safe.
Along the trails toward the peaks and trading posts of Nepal, the phrase “Never End Peace And Love” was once inscribed on walls by locals and passing travelers. Today, a new disaster has torn down those walls in many areas, leaving them in ruins. Yet, the message left behind is now being re-proclaimed as a commitment to stand together.
The Thai Volunteer Service (TVS) and the Thai people’s network weave together the five words hidden within the name N E P A L to become a landmark of recovery and a message of solidarity sent directly to our friends and everyone there.
NEVER END (A Bond We Have Committed To)
The relationship between Thai Volunteer Service and INSEC is a path we have written together for more than eleven years, from building houses at Gaikhura in 2015 through to the continuing exchange between volunteers. Never End is our affirmation that this bond holds. We stand here beside you as friends, ready to move through every crisis together.
PEACE (Peace and Truth)
In a Nepal that has recently come through political struggle and the turning of an era, peace here is a question of the basic human rights that people are demanding together. It is not abstract. It belongs to people, and it has to be claimed. That is also a reaffirmation of INSEC’s mission, an organisation that has spent decades recording every trace of what happens, and that has been devoted to monitoring and defending human rights since 1988.
AND LOVE (A Thread Across Borders)
Love is respect for the dignity and the strength of people. It is a force that moves from civil society to civil society, people to people, joining hands to carry the light of recovery, to restore power, to restore ways of living, and to return hope to the places that have been affected.

Contributors may request a receipt for tax deduction, and donations made through e-donation are eligible for deduction immediately.
Donations received will be collected and reported to everyone every week until the campaign closes.
